An occupational health assessment is an assessment of an employee’s health in the context of their job.
In our organisation, the assessment will be undertaken by an experienced occupational health physician (doctor) who will then provide occupational health advice (in a report) to employers regarding employees’ fitness for work and reasonable adjustments to consider in order to help improve the health, safety and well-being of employees at work whilst also improving productivity at work. Our occupational health physicians will also provide advice on the Equality Act 2010.
Please note that the purpose of an occupational health assessment is not to diagnose or treat, but rather we provide advice on how health can impact on work and how work can impact health.
An employee with any physical or mental health condition which may impact them at work, or an employee who is on short or term sick leave, or an employee with recurrent spells of sickness absence, or an employee who is underperforming at work, or an employee who is about to return to work, or an employee who needs to be assessed for fitness for work before starting a job (pre-employment or placement) medical or an employee who reports work related stress.
